"Still Shining"

“Still Shining” is simple, this piece highlights a “golden” black woman with a glittering tear running down her face however she is still beaming.  As a black woman I have found myself having to appear strong or composed even if stressful or painful situations. That fact for me led to the phrase “even in our pain we are still shining” which inspired this piece.

"Even in Pain, We Shine" Still shining is dedicated to the unwavering will and golden greatness that is the black woman. A textured mixed medium painting on 20x20 canvas. Sealed with gloss and crackle varnish for preservation.
