Roxy Wuz Here Art is honored to be included in An Artist’s Work in the Silos, a juried group exhibition at Sawyer Yards in Houston, Texas. The exhibition was juried by Patrick Palmer of the Glassell School of Art and is on view from September 5 through November 7, 2026.
Featured in the exhibition is Covered Layers of Generational Trauma, a 24 x 30-inch mixed media painting created in 2024.
The work explores generational trauma, inherited experiences and the layers we carry through family and lived experience. Through layered figures, texture and mixed media, the piece reflects how childhood experiences, family patterns and emotional wounds can continue to show through even as we heal and transform.
For Roxy Wuz Here Art, art is a form of reflection and a pathway toward healing. This work considers what we inherit, what we choose to carry and what we have the power to transform.
Healing does not always mean erasing the past. Sometimes, it means understanding the layers, acknowledging what remains and choosing a different way forward.
